Where is the shipyard located?
The shipyard is located at 731 Seaview Ave Bridgeport, Connecticut 06607, with direct deep-water access to Long Island Sound.
What are your shipyard's operational hours?
Normal business hours are 8am-5pm Monday to Friday.
What is the capacity of your shipyard in terms of vessel size and tonnage?
17-acre property, 220’ service dock

What specific services does your shipyard offer for commercial vessels?
We offer full turn-key vessel construction management and repair/overhaul services:
Hornblower Marine Construction: Repair, renovation, conversion, repower, emergency 24/7 support.
Hornblower Marine Management: project management, on-site representation, construction oversight, Marine System Design, 3D modeling, regulatory guidance, consultancy report.

What types of vessels can you service at the Hornblower Marine shipyard?
Our shipyard can service recreational, commercial, and governmental vessels of steel, aluminum, and fiberglass construction.
Can you provide design and engineering services for my vessel?
We have an in-house marine design and electrical engineering team to provide design services such as general arrangements, wiring schematics, and production and fabrication drawings. We also have close relationships with trusted naval architectural firms to provide further engineering services

What certifications do your welders have?
Our metal fabrication department is AWS and ABS certified.
Do you offer repair and maintenance services for boats?
Yes, we provide full-service repair and maintenance services with experience in USCG-inspected vessels, Class vessels, as well as private and government vessels.
How do you ensure quality control during construction?
We have a full-time HSSQE (Health, Safety, Security, Quality, and Environmental) manager on staff who is responsible for managing quality processes and procedures before, during, and after any and all vessel work.
What types of propulsion systems can you install in new vessels?
Hornblower Marine is the distributor of a range of Baudouin marine engines.
Do you offer environmentally friendly or hybrid propulsion options?
Yes, we offer EPA-certified Tier IV compliant 6M26.3 and 12M26.3 Baudouin engines equipped with SCR systems.
Do you offer emergency repair services?
Yes, we offer emergency repair services for vessels.
What certifications and qualifications do your technicians and engineers hold?

Do you have experience with specific types of marine engines or equipment?
As the distributor of Baudouin Engines from Maine to Virginia. Hornblower Marine Propulsion is able to provide answers to technical questions and service needs. Our certified staff are certified and able to travel internationally if required and committed to getting the work completed as fast as possible without sacrificing quality.
Do you offer project management services for large-scale repairs and refits?
Yes, Hornblower Marine Management offers project management and construction oversight. Hornblower’s accumulated knowledge and experience has resulted in comprehensive expertise and competencies across all aspects of new vessel construction including design, naval architecture, engineering, construction drawings, USCG CFR’s and Class rules, construction management, scheduling, procurement, integration of owner-furnished equipment, and much more. Since Hornblower operates many of the vessels we build, we have developed additional expertise in the areas of training, warranty work identification and enforcement, maintenance programs, and vessel operationalization.

What types of Baudouin engines are available through Hornblower Marine?
Marine Packages ranging from 600 to 1400hp. Currently we have 16 and 32 liter engine options. Later this year the F21 series engine 12.5 liters from 800 hp to 1000 hp (recreational). We are also getting a 20 Liter 6 cyl (M33).

Baudouin has been manufacturing engines specifically designed for marine applications since 1918.
What is the mean time between Propulsion haul (MTBO) for Baudouin engines?
Based on application and running profiles engines can operate between 18 and 24 thousand running hours
